DirectV internet, which owns the cable provider, said in a statement that 1,017 customers in its network remained without service Wednesday evening after an outage at its New York-area headquarters.
The outage was caused by a failure to configure the company’s Internet Gateway Interface (IGI), the company said.
About 2,000 people were impacted by the outage.
“Our apologies for any inconvenience caused,” the company wrote.
The company is providing service to the affected customers for now, it added.
The outage affects more than 2,200 customers, the company added.
DirectV said that it will issue refunds to affected customers.
The company said that its employees were also affected by the disruption.
It’s unclear when the company will resume service to customers.
